The NASCAR Cup Series begins the race weekend with practice and qualifying on Saturday before Sunday’s Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Morning practice and qualifying sessions prior to Saturday’s Truck and Xfinity Series races will determine the lineup for the second race in the Round of 8. Joey Logano secured fourth place in the championship with his fuel economy victory last weekend in Las Vegas.
Sunday’s 400-mile race will likely require a lot of strategy, and at least three playoff drivers (Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott) have already resigned themselves to having to win in the round to advance to the final four , after falling behind in the standings to Las Vegas.
Here’s everything you need to know about NASCAR Cup qualifying at Homestead.
