Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho says he is ready to move to a bottom-of-the-table club in England in two years after he was sent off in his side’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the Europa League .

“I looked at it [penalty] Incident. I don’t want to talk about it,” Mourinho said.

As he walked up to the referee, he added: “He told me something unbelievable. At the same time, he could see what was happening in the penalty area and my behavior on the sideline.”

“I congratulate him because he is absolutely incredible.

“During the game, at 100 miles an hour, he had an eye on the penalty situation, and he had an eye on the bench and my behavior.”

United remain winless in the Europa League

There was always heavy ridicule against United, who started with full-back Noussair Mazraoui in the starting line-up. 10th position, touched the ball in the initial phase. The visitors would have expected this and Ten Hag would have spoken to his team about calming the crowd down.

That’s exactly what they did in the 15th minute. Manuel Ugarte’s challenge sparked the attack as Alejandro Garnacho slowed the pace. His cross found Mazraoui before Zirkzee set up superbly for Christian Eriksen, who fired emphatically into the top corner and gave the visitors the lead.

Rashford missed a brilliant chance to double the lead before Ugarte made a sensational last-ditch save from Dusan Tadic and Andre Onana made a superb double save from Youssef En-Nesyri to keep United’s lead intact until half-time.

United’s lead lasted just four minutes into the second half when Youssef En-Nesyri headed Allan Saint-Maximin’s precise cross past Onana from close range.

The momentum was now in Fenerbahce’s favor and they thought they should have been awarded a penalty after Ugarte’s foul on Bright Osayi-Samuel. However, the referee rejected the appeals, much to the dismay of Mourinho, who was eventually sent to the stands for his protests.

Neither team was able to score a winner as United, who had Antony sent off late on, remain winless in this year’s Europa League. They have now been winless in Europe for over a year and are 21st in the table. Meanwhile, following the draw, Fenerbahce remain unbeaten in Europe so far this season and sit in 14th place.

Andre Onana made two fantastic saves. Come on, he saved the result. My goalkeeper didn’t save, he made two impossible saves within 10 seconds. He was the most crucial player in the result. Of course he didn’t make 20 saves, but two were incredible.

Should Fenerbahce have had a penalty?

Mourinho and his staff thought so.

In real time one might have thought Ugarte had made contact with Osayi-Samuel, but replays showed there was minimal, if any, contact.

Jay Bothroyd, who was watching the game for Sky Sports News, said: “Mourinho will be angry after the game when he sees Osayi-Samuel dived, Ugarte barely touched him.”

Referee Clement Turpin and his colleagues made their decision accurately in the heated atmosphere.

As for Mourinho, you can’t keep him out of the action if his protests to the referees go over the line as he watched the remaining 32 minutes from the stands.

Manchester United’s box office meeting with Jose Mourinho lived up to this standard.

Mourinho: A good result for Man Utd

Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho on his team’s 1-1 draw against Man Utd:

“They scored a point against us, not us against them.”

“We played great. If we play like this in the Turkish league, we will destroy every team because we played against a team that is at a higher level than us.”

“Of course the Premier League has more quality, more intensity, more pace and more of everything.”

“I think my boys played a great game.

“There will probably be talk in England about two or three Man Utd players who didn’t play. You don’t know how many of us didn’t play because, first of all, we left four players off the Europa League list, and then we also had injuries and had to play the game with a center back at right-back and a right-back at left-back finish.

“We had to solve a crazy puzzle, but our performance was exceptional. I couldn’t ask for anything more from the players.”

“I know the English media will say Manchester United didn’t play well, but I think it would be fair to say we played an exceptional game and were better than them. A good result for Manchester United.”

Ten Hag: A good point, but we want to win

Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag:

“Fenerbahce is a very good club with very good fans and some good players.”

“It would be a very good finale.

“We should keep the ball better in the first half. We should score more goals, but to be honest they created good chances too. They caused us some problems.”

“They are a good team with a good manager. That’s not a bad point. But we want to win. We want to win every game.”

“Two tough away games. Of course, if you take the lead, that’s it.” [drawing] That wasn’t supposed to happen, we had chances to score a second goal.

“Disappointed not to win. We have to win games at Old Trafford.”
