Bears vs. Commanders injury report: Jaquan Brisker and Kyler Gordon are out

The Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders have been assigned a more important date for the quarterback matchup, but it looks like that is still uncertain. CBS needs to buy into the narrative that Chicago rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is back home playing in DC if fellow rookie QB Jayden Daniels doesn’t play.

Washington lists Daniels (ribs) as questionable after being limited, but much of Daniels’ work today came in their practice bubble while the media was present. However, he did get some reps outside with the offense in the closed area.

“We’ll evaluate how he responds to the work we’ve put in over the next 48 hours,” Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said. “But we really stepped on the gas today.”

Daniels said he wanted to play, but it wasn’t his decision.

Regardless of which quarterback the Bears face, they will be without two-fifths of their starting secondary with safety Jaquan Brisker (concussion) and nickelback Kyler Gordon (hamstring) out. The good news for Chicago is that cornerbacks Tyrique Stevenson and Terell Smith and defensive tackle Zacch Pickens are all off the report.

The Bears list three players as questionable, but all three are still in their 21-day practice window after being designated for return from injured reserve. Offensive lineman Larry Borom, defensive end Jacob Martin and running back Travis Homer were all full practice participants, but if the Bears need them on Sunday, they would have to make a roster move to get them on the 53-man roster.

Washington also lists starting left tackle Brandon Coleman as an outside prospect and defensive end Dorence Armstrong (ribs) as questionable. Armstrong was limited in training throughout the week.

And in case you missed it, Washington’s Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jonathan Allen is on injured reserve.
