Podziemski stays long after Warriors-Blazers game to correct odd stat line originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
Brandin Podziemski, if analysts and fans were just one statistic, had an outstanding game in the Warriors’ 139-104 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday at the Moda Center.
However, that one statistic – Podziemski’s stunning plus-34 plus-minus – doesn’t tell the full story of his performance in the Warriors’ season-opening win.
In 24 minutes on the court, Podziemski scored zero points on 0 of 5 shooting from the field and 0 of 4 from 3-point range while collecting seven rebounds and four assists.
Although Golden State jumped out to a 34-point lead over Portland within minutes of Podziemski being on the court, he wasn’t happy with his performance.
Hours after the game, Podziemski was seen on the court taking shots to make up for his poor shooting night.

While his 34 plus-minus total in a game in which he missed every shot is certainly an impressive statistical feat – and in part a testament to his diverse influence on the game – Podziemski knows he can be even better.
