Xavi “asks” for a “perfect” signing worth £67m to replace Ten Hag after two more “demands”.
Former Barcelona manager Xavi has reportedly demanded that Man Utd look to make a signing to replace Erik ten Hag.
The Red Devils have made a terrible start to the new season, with the Ten Hag side currently sitting 12th in the Premier League standings after eight games.
Man Utd have scored just seven goals in the Premier League this season, with last weekend’s 2-1 win against Brentford being just their third win of the season.
Before the international break there were rumors that Ten Hag could be sacked after surviving the summer crisis, although INEOS had spoken to other managers about a possible replacement for the Dutchman.
Thomas Tuchel – before he was named the new England manager – Thomas Frank, Graham Potter, Eddie Howe, Maxi Allegri and Xavi were among the names linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Reports earlier this week claimed Man Utd had held talks with former Barcelona coach Xavi and speculated the Spaniard was interested in signing Fermin Lopez and Raphinha.
And now reports in Spain claim that Xavi has “asked” for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in another apparent transfer demand before he agrees to succeed Ten Hag.
It is claimed that “his mobility in one-on-one situations and his versatility in attack make him a perfect player for the style that Xavi may want to implement at United.”
Napoli’s asking price would be around €80m (£67m), a figure Manchester United could be willing to pay if Xavi takes over as manager of the club, with INEOS viewing Kvaratskhelia as a “strong investment and open to one.” Sale is”. A significant sum is on the table to secure his signing.’

Earlier this month, former Liverpool midfielder James McAteer said he was stunned by INEOS’ decision to give Ten Hag a contract extension in the summer.
McAteer told Gambling zone: “Manchester United’s decision to give Erik ten Hag a new contract in the summer is a decision that I’m still racking my brains over. I find it confusing.
“According to what we have heard from outside, United spoke to a few candidates in the summer to replace him.
“They obviously didn’t get their man. Then putting all their hopes on ten Hag and giving him over a hundred million to spend seems like a crazy decision when they had doubts about him from the start, which they obviously did.
“The players’ heads would have been scrambled in the dressing room. I think they were all expecting a new manager to come in and then they find out that ten Hag is staying.
“INEOS came and completely overhauled the football team at management level. There was great excitement that they would solve the problems at the club.
“They have appointed Dan Ashworth to oversee this strategy and take the club forward. He has a great reputation, as does Jason Wilcox – you’d think they’d get it right eventually, but you have to question their decision-making with what they’ve done over the last four months.
“The job at Manchester United is too big for ten Hag. He has shown in the last 10 games that he is unable to perform under pressure. I think he lost the locker room.
“The United players seem confused by what is going on – you can see that in many of their performances. Bruno Fernandes seems completely frustrated by the situation and I think a lot of his attitude has come from frustration with what’s going on behind the scenes and with Erik ten Hag’s training and ideas. Manchester United players look lost under this manager.”
